ENCHANTED RIVER
Enchanted River is great and worth the visit. However ( and this is a common observation of rhe whole region ) we didn`t know about the feeding of the fish, the music which fish came up for at 3. We jumped on a pump boat with the only explanation that we were going for a boat ride for an hour.
If we had known, we would have planned our day an probably spent 1000 pesos out there and been generous with tips.
rough road, good but to crowded, fish feeding is OK-nothing to rave about. small area jampacked with tables and cottages, people staying at steps leading to river. with the fee they get from local & foreign tourest, surely they can improve their toilets- at least. more work needed for tourists.
The river look`s photoshopped; it reminds you of the movie "Blue Lagoon". the waters are so crystal clear that you can see the riverbed even at the deepest part. One of the most magical moment when you visit in Enchanted River. a caretaker from the Enchanted River Management Office would ring the bell as a way of requesting everyone to get out from the water.
The ( Hymn if Hinatuan ) is a spectacular school of fish comes out from nowhever. the fish gather around near the mouth of the river as the caretaker and tourists throw leftover rice, shrimp, bread and other food, scraps into the water. the lifeguards are on duty and visible within the swimming area. and no one is allowed to smoke inside the Enchanted River Premises.
